The National Security Service of Armenia detained Asatryan soon after his arrival to the country.
The court arrested criminal authority Artur Asatryan (Don Pipo) for two months. Asatryan's lawyer told this Sputnik Armenia’s correspondent after the court session.
Artur Asatryan is suspected of the abduction of three persons with the use of violence, weapons and items used as weapons. In addition, he is suspected of illegal puchaise and possession of arms.
The National Security Service of Armenia detained Asatryan soon after his arrival to the country on June 16. After he returned to his native town of Echmiadzin, Don Pipo organized rallies against deputy Manvel Grigoryan and his son, acting mayor Karen Grigoryan.
The rallies were held under the guise of the Velvet revolution, which caused a negative reaction of the Prime Minister. Soon, Asatryan and Manvel Grigoryan were detained.
After a hearing of Don Pipo’s case, the court is expected to make decision on the arrest of Manvel Grigoryan.
