Yugra: two employees of Federal Registration Service accused of $40k bribes

One of the defendants was charged with 24 criminal episodes.

Two employees of the Rosreestr department in Surgut became defendants in a criminal case on receiving bribes for a total amount of 2,6 million rubles ($ 40,000) in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District (Yugra). The indictment against one employee has already been approved by the prosecutor. The defendant is charged with 24 criminal episodes, the regional ICR Directorate reported.

There are seven defendants in the case: two bribe-takers and five bribe-givers – businessmen and realtors. In 2016-2018, they paid the Rosreestr employees “for reducing the time taken for the drafting necessary documents, terms for conducting legal examinations and the registration of rights to real estate and transactions with it in favor of third parties.” The materials of the criminal case amounted to 60 volumes.
