Yalta administration officials caught in bribery
Investigators raided the city department of land and urban development control.
The Investigative Committee launched a criminal case over bribery against officials of the Yalta administration, including the Head of the land and urban control department, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea reports. The day before, a workplace of the suspect was searched.
“There is a process of purge of crooks and villains. This is our position,” says Alexey Chelpanov, the Head of the Yalta administration.
The Head of the department was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe of 400 thousand rubles for "illegal actions to recover the replacement cost of remote green spaces on a land plot" in Yalta. A criminal case was intiated under Bribe-Taking (part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
In addition, they detained two alleged intermediaries in bribery (part 3 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), who transferred 220 thousand rubles to officials of the municipal control department. The bribe-taker had turned a blind eye to the revealed violations of land legislation, the rules of improvement and trade at a trading facility in the Foros settlement.
