Vice-Governor of Primorye detained
Evgeny Vishnyakov is responsible for tariffs, housing supervision and nature protection.
Vice-Governor of Primorsky region Evgeny Vishnyakov was detained by law enforcement agencies. At the moment, his place of work is searched. PrimaMedia reported this with reference to its sources.
According to the newspaper, the official is on vacation until July 27. He does not answer phone calls. The press service of the regional administration has no information about his whereabouts.
The reason for the alleged detention is unknown, but, according to sources of the edition, it is related to energy and Ussuriysk. Prior to the post of Vice-Governor, Vishnyakov served as the Head of the energy department of Primorsky Krai.
Vishnyakov became Deputy Governor in February 2015 after the rotation of personnel conducted by Head of the region Vladimir Miklushevsky. Prior to his arrival in Primorye, Vishnyakov was the Vice-Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, and before that he had worked in Rosatom.
At the moment, the Deputy Head of the region is responsible for issues of housing and communal services, fuel and energy complex, tariff formation, state housing supervision, natural resources management, environmental protection, forestry. He also heads the commission for emergency situations. The Governor made a point of the work of Vishnyakov during the liquidation of the Lionok typhoon's consequences.
Recall that this is not the first detention of high-ranking officials from the team of Governor Miklushevsky. The CrimeRussia has repeatedly analyzed the situation with the siloviki's interest in the leaders of Primorsky Krai. At the moment, more than 200 criminal cases have been filed against people from the district Head's entourage. Two vice-governors - Oleg Yezhov and Sergey Sidorenko - were arrested. The energy sector of the region is paying close attention to the siloviki - nearly 400 inspections were carried out in Primteploenergo. In February this year, a serious blow on Miklushevsky's team was struck: the adviser to the Governor, political strategist Ilya Spokoinov (Mitkin) was detained. He is accused of stealing more than 100 million rubles ($1.67m), allocated for the purchase of equipment for children's playgrounds. Spokoinov does not admit his guilt and considers the criminal case a political order.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
