Ugra policeman detained while accepting a bribe
The law enforcer promised to stop criminal prosecution for the money.
A police officer was detained while taking a bribe to terminate a criminal case in the Nefteyugansk district of Ugra, URA.ru reports citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
“The district internal investigation department was watching him and detained him red-handed,” the Ural newspaper quotes the interlocutor.
In late May, Alexander Valyukhov, former police chief of the city of Raduzhny, in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, was convicted for paying a bribe. As the court and the investigators established, Valyukhov gave 200 thousand rubles to an FSB officer for information on upcoming measures aimed at capturing suspects in hydrocarbon theft.
Two adults and three children became infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) during treatment in a hospital in the Stavropol city of Budyonnovsk in 2018, Interfax reports with reference to the regional Ministry of Health.
