Ugra policeman detained while accepting a bribe
The law enforcer promised to stop criminal prosecution for the money.
A police officer was detained while taking a bribe to terminate a criminal case in the Nefteyugansk district of Ugra, URA.ru reports citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
“The district internal investigation department was watching him and detained him red-handed,” the Ural newspaper quotes the interlocutor.
In late May, Alexander Valyukhov, former police chief of the city of Raduzhny, in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, was convicted for paying a bribe. As the court and the investigators established, Valyukhov gave 200 thousand rubles to an FSB officer for information on upcoming measures aimed at capturing suspects in hydrocarbon theft.
