Tver: ICR Colonel arrested on second attempt
For 1.5 million rubles Denis Zhukov promised the citizen to terminate the criminal case against him.
Former Deputy Head of the ICR Procedural Control department of in the Tver region Denis Zhukov was arrested on suspicion of receiving a 1.5 million rubles ~ $25.500 bribe (part 6, Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It should be noted that the investigators obtained Zhukov's imprisonment in the pre-trial detention center on the second attempt. Earlier, on June 28, the Zavolzhsky District Court of Tver left the petition of the investigation without consideration. The cause was the illness of the person involved in the case, the court press service said, adding that the materials had arrived, but they were returned to the investigation.
As the CrimeRussia previously wrote, ICR Colonel Denis Zhukov was detained on June 25 when he received a bribe from an intermediary - a familiar lawyer. For 1.45 million rubles, he promised to push for the adoption of a decision on the criminal prosecution termination in favor of the defendant in one of the criminal cases, which was in the work of the employees of the regional ICR.
After scaring Dagestan with inspections, arrests, and searches, the interdepartmental commission of the Prosecutor General’s Office and ICR has identified key priorities for the regional watchdog authority. After the crackdown on the old clan-based system, the management reforms became more constructive – however, another wave of criminal cases, terminations, and arrests is expected in the republic. The CrimeRussia was figuring out what other Dagestani officials are currently at risk.
