Sverdlovsk ex-judge’s son convicted of passing bribe to father

Investigators filed criminal case against Oleg Gavryushin, a former judge of the Sverdlovsk Arbitration Court, accused of an attempt to accept a bribe of 14 million rubles (part 3 of Art. 30, part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Andrei Gavryushin, the son of the ex-judge, has been sentenced to 7.5 years in a maximum-security colony for mediation, according to Legal.Report.

According to investigators, in April 2018, Gavryushin Sr. had an agreement with a representative of JSC Design and Survey Institute GEO that he would be paid for resolving a tax dispute in favor of the organization. The judge made the verdict on May 29, and the security forces detained his son with the money, most of which was fake, on the same day.

In June 2018, Judge Gavryushin resigned, and in November, the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges allowed to institute criminal proceedings against Gavryushin.
