The deputy head of the MIA’s Main Directorate for the North Caucasus Federal District promised a businessman to help him avoid criminal punishment.
The deputy chief of the department of the MIA’s Main Directorate for the North Caucasus Federal District, Lieutenant Colonel Igor Alyushin, who was detained in the Stavropol Region while receiving a bribe from a businessman, was fired from the internal affairs bodies. A criminal case was initiated against the ex-police officer for attempted swindling (part 3 of Article 30, part 4 of Article 159 CCRF), the press service of the ICR reports.
Alyushin headed the department for combating the most dangerous economic crimes, crimes in the fuel and energy complex and corruption. According to the investigators, in the period from February to March 2019, Alyushin offered an entrepreneur to stop the operational-search activities against him for 2,2 million rubles ($ 35,000), despite the fact that they were conducted by another department.
The entrepreneur appealed to law enforcement bodies and, under the supervision of the FSB Directorate’s officers and the MIA’s Main Directorate for Internal Security, handed over Alyushin the money, after which the police officer was detained.
