State Duma offered to give term for promising of bribe
This initiative was offered by member of the committee of the State Duma on safety and anti-corruption Andrey Lugovoy. According to him, it may help to prevent development of “corruption career of any official”.
Deputy of the State Duma and member of the committee of the lower house of parliament on safety and anti-corruption Andrey Lugovoy offered a new method of fight against corruption. According to him, it is necessary to impose criminal liability for the offer or the promise of a bribe.
“We now have an absurd situation. The promise of a bribe is recognized a preparation for a crime which is punishable only in cases if it concerns heavy or especially heavy article, that is from five years and more”, RIA Novosti provides his words.
Lugovoy emphasized that the promise itself or the offer should be punishable. Such measure, in his opinion, will interfere with the beginning of “corruption career of any official”.
Earlier it was reported that the scale of a bribe in Moscow area in 2016 grew by 3,5 times, exceeding one million rubles. In Moscow unfair officials on average began to take two million rubles.
Lieutenant General Oleg Troshin announced he is going to retire in May 2018. He is doing it following a decision taken a year ago – not due to non-existent issues with the agency reported by some local media outlets.
