Security forces to search apartments of accomplices of Chuvashia deputy prime minister
Head of the republican Ministry of Economic Development Avrelkin is accused of organizing a scam for $ 300,000.
Cheboksary’s Leninsky District Court allowed the FSB Directorate to search the apartments of possible accomplices of the 40-year-old vice-premier of Chuvashia, minister of economy Vladimir Avrelkin, who had previously been arrested for two months on charges of illegally receiving 20 million rubles ($ 300,000) from the budget as subsidies. The investigators believe Sergey Anisimov, the director of the Novocheboksarsk biological treatment plant, and Olga Filippova, the head of the Cheboksary company Order LLC, are Avrelkin’s accomplices, Kommersant reports.
Against Avrelkin, a criminal case on abuse of authority (part 3 of Article 285 CCRF) was initiated. Anisimov and Filippova are charged with complicity (part 5 of Article 33 CCRF and part 3 of Article 285 CCRF).
Before the New Year, the court arrested Avrelkin until February 26, 2019. Filippov was placed under house arrest until the same date.
Seventeen Russian Governors are facing criminal prosecution for bribe-taking. The rest of them may be jailed any time for exceedance of official powers. At least, Nezygar (@russica2) Telegram channel claims so citing an unidentified source in the law enforcement structures. However, according to that source, it is currently prohibited to prosecute top-level officials. In 2018, the operatives had only searched offices of Vice Governors or Deputy Ministers – not their bosses. The CrimeRussia found out what supreme functionaries are on the hook of the law enforcement authorities and may be immediately indicted if the President orders so.
