BAZA Telegram Channel has published photos of the house of FSB Colonel Kirill Cherkalin, as well as a collection of vehicles and equipment. In his country house, the alleged corrupt official had an “oval office” in the style of American presidents, a bathtub with golden taps, a few buggies, a snowmobile and a quad bike in the backyard.
The CrimeRussia said earlier that the security official had received money between November 2013 and February 2015 and provided general patronage to a private company in return. Earlier, searches in the counterintelligence officer’s apartment uncovered 12 billion rubles’ worth of cash, which was seized.
Cherkalin was detained on April 25. In the evening of the same day, he was imprisoned under the decision of the 235th garrison military court. In addition to Cherkalin, other two former employees of his department, Dmitry Frolov (Cherkalin's predecessor, who had been dismissed from the FSB on compromising grounds) and Andrei Vasilyev, were detained for fraud. They were arrested the next day by the Basmanny District Court.
Russia’s deposit insurance agency asked the court to involve an offshore company Clement Glory in a case against a fugitive banker and an ex-owner of Vneshprombank Georgy Bedzhamov. Clement Glory turned out to hold Bedzhamov’s real estate in Great Britain in pawn, reports RBC.
