Russian government to be reorganized for optimization
The sectoral departments and secretariats of vice-premiers virtually duplicate each other.
The structure of the Central Office the Russian Government will be reorganized in order to get rid of the duplication of functions of vice-premiers’ departments and secretariats. The relevant work is supposed to be carried out in a month, RBC reported, referring to sources.
“Now the sectoral departments and secretariats of vice-premiers actually duplicate each other. Therefore, there are cases when a list of instructions goes to a vice-premier’s secretariat, and then immediately to the ministries, bypassing the relevant departments,” the Cabinet’s press service said.
The reorganization procedure is planned to be launched in the spring. Another source said that as part of the reorganization, the relevant secretariats will be expanded at the expense of core departments, the Central Office will be divided between core deputy prime ministers so that they can also influence personnel policy in the departments.
