RSC Energia deputy director general and two of his subordinates detained for bribes
In the near future, the Court will elect a preventive measure for the suspected employees of the Rocket and Space Corporation.
The ICR Investigations Directorate in the Moscow region suspects several employees of the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation of bribe-taking. Representatives of Roscosmos State Corporation, which is directly involved in the investigation, told TASS on Sunday.
According to the Investigative Committee, Deputy Director General of RSC Energia, Aleksey Beloborodov, and two of his subordinates, whose names are not reported, have been detained on suspicion of attempted swindling. The detainees have been already charged.
REN TV notes that Head of the State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin is aware of the detentions of the persons suspected of corruption.
According to Interfax’s source, the ICR officers suspect a whole team of senior specialists of one of the main Russian enterprises for the development of missile and space technology of bribe-taking.
At the moment, the suspects are pleading guilty. In the near future, the investigation will go to the Court to elect a preventive measure for the suspects.
Commenting on the investigation, Roscosmos representatives recalled TASS that the State Corporation’s Director General Dmitry Rogozin had previously appealed to the Chamber of Accounts with a statement on the need for an additional audit of the financial and economic activities of RSC Energia. The State Corporation’s press service also noted that Roscosmos works closely with the law enforcement agencies in the fight against corruption and will firmly suppress corruption and other financial crimes.
To recall, Director General of NPO Lavochkin (part of Roscosmos structure), Sergey Lemeshevsky, was arrested on charges of embezzlement on an especially large scale in July.
