Rogozin explained why Spetsstroy to be liquidated
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin commented on the decision to liquidate the Federal Agency for Special Construction (Spetsstroy). The corresponding decree was signed today by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In particular, Rogozin said that Spetsstroy was eliminated due to significant deficiencies in the work during the construction of the Vostochniy cosmodrome.
Also, Deputy Prime Minister noted that the construction of the Vostochniy cosmodrome was accompanied by the initiation of a number of criminal cases on corruption.
The elimination of Spetsstroy was a consequence of criticism from the Government, which was aimed at the organization of work, sub-contracting system and revealed cases of corruption, said Rogozin.
Recall, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the abolition of the Federal Agency for Special Construction (Spetsstroy). According to the Kremlin press service, all procedures, connected with the liquidation of the agency, will be completed before July 1, 2017.
Functions of Spetsstroy are transferred to the Russian Defense Ministry. Previously, Defense Ministry Head Sergey Shoigu said that instead of the abolished Spetsstroy eight FSUEs will be organized for the construction of special facilities
The Kuybyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg is to consider the third case against Barsukov (Kumarin), as part of which he is charged with criminal community creation. Previously, the 'night governor of St. Petersburg' had been held in the Moscow's Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. It is also reported that Barsukov is to be questioned in the case of Galina Starovoytova's murder.
