Riot police detained and delivered to jail brother of Sverdlovsk deputy governor
Businessman Igor Chemezov is suspected of bribery on a large scale.
The brother of the vice-governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Igor Chemezov, was detained last night by an entire unit of the special riot police forces.
The security forces came to Oleg Chemezov's brother and took him to a temporary detention center. A man is suspected of giving a bribe on a large scale.
Previously, he was called by notice to the ICR many times, but the official’s brother decided that he could not react to this. In connection with the non-appearance, he was declared wanted. Now he is sitting in a pre-trial detention center, accused under Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Bribe-Giving).
Igor Chemezov is the owner of Over the Clouds radio station, as well as 51% of the online football channel about football and the third part of the real estate company. In addition, he is a co-founder of MedInfoCenter companies involved in software.
Igor Chemezov’s lawyer told reporters that, in his opinion, the businessman was illegally detained, and he had already filed relevant complaints.
He explained Chemezov’s non-appearance to investigators by foreign travel. And allegedly he did not hide from the investigation, since he lived at his home address, where he was detained, the lawyer claims.
