Prosecutor's Office demands to dismiss Chelyabinsk official for nepotism
Zainulla Suleymanov concluded an agreement with his nephew on behalf of the municipal Administration on the provision of legal services.
The Argayashsky district Prosecutor's Office intends to achieve the resignation of the Derbishevskoe rural settlement Head Zainulla Suleymanov.
Prosecutors convicted Suleymanov of violating anti-corruption laws. The Head of Derbishevskoe concealed from the Grievance Commission the facts of nepotism. So, in February this year an official concluded with his nephew a contract on behalf of the municipal Administration for the provision of legal services. In addition, Zainulla Suleymanov gave his sibling a warrant of attorney to represent the interests of the Administration in the courts.
District Prosecutor Sergey Trapeznikov decided that revealed violations of anti-corruption laws might be the basis for the resignation of the Head. However, the Derbishevskoe settlement Board of Deputies refused to dismiss Suleymanov.
Now, the Prosecutor's Office asked the court to cancel the decision of deputies. In addition, the supervisory authority wants to oblige the parliament to reconsider the question of the Suleymanov's resignation.
It is noteworthy that in 2015 five representatives of the Suleymanov's family were elected as council members in different districts of the region. Among the nominees were brothers of the current Head and their sons. Zainulla Suleymanov assumed office of the Head in January 2016. Previously, he also headed the Derbishevskoe rural settlement from 2005 to 2010.
Billionaire Viktor Vekselberg has repaid loans in the amount of $1 billion taken from the Western banks. Earlier, his Renova Group had received state support from Promsvyazbank. Renova representatives say they have repaid the loan with the company’s own funds.
