Prosecutor's Office asked to sentence Investigative Committee Colonel Lamonov to 6 years' imprisonment
Lamonov pleaded guilty and concluded a plea deal.
At a hearing in the Moscow City Court, the Prosecutor's Office asked to sentence Deputy Head of the ICR BIA Alexander Lamonov, accused of taking bribes from thief in law Zakhar Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy) to 6 years' imprisonment. Moskva agency reports.
Lamonov pleaded guilty and concluded a plea deal. His case was separated and examined it in a special order without considering the evidence. At the request of the FSB, the trial is going a huis clos.
According to the investigation, Lamonov, along with Head of the ICR BIA Mikhail Maksimenko, and First Deputy Head of the Moscow department of the ICR Denis Nikandrov, "took measures to resolve the issue" for the release of Shakro's companion, Andrey Kochuykov aka Italyanets. He was arrested after a firefight near the Elements restaurant on Rochdelskaya Street; two people were killed. Later, Kochuykov was sentenced to 8 years and ten months of the colony.
Initially, the defendants in the case had been charged with embezzlement through swindling in the amount of 225 million rubles ($3.3 million). In the final version of the indictment, the article was changed to 1.5-billion-ruble ($22.45 million) embezzlement.
