Prosecutor General’s Office submitted claim to Colonel Zakharchenko for $157 thousand
The department intends to turn the means into the income of the state.
The Prosecutor General’s Office demands to turn the means arrested within the criminal case of Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko in profit of state. It is reported on the website of the supervising department.
In particular, there are about 27 real estate objects - apartments, parking places, expensive cars and also about 8 billion rubles ($139m), including jewelry and currency withdrawn. It is noted that all property is estimated at 9 billion rubles ($157m).
Earlier the Moscow City Court arrested the real estate of his civil spouse Anastasia Pestrikova and Dmitry Zakharchenko's daughter Ulyana. The investigation claimed that Zakharchenko acquired the property on the money received by illegal means.
To recall, Zakharchenko is in custody since September 2016. He is accused of receiving several bribes. During searches, over 8.5 billion rubles ($148 thousand) were revealed and withdrawn. Later the Colonel’s lawyer said that his client was suspected of another one episode of bribe taking.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
