Policeman detained at lecture on combating corruption placed under house arrest
The head of the traffic police district department allegedly patronized a familiar entrepreneur.
In Khabarovsk, the 35-year-old head of the traffic police department in the Vyazemsky district, previously detained at a lecture on combating corruption, was placed under house arrest over Abuse of Official Powers (part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Nikolay Didukh is listed on the website of the police as the head of the district traffic police department.
“According to the investigators, the head of the local department of traffic police patronized a familiar entrepreneur who owned several trucks from 2017 to 2019. In cases of violations, the police officer did not bring drivers to administrative responsibility,” said the press service of the regional administration of the ICR.
The criminal case was initiated on the FSB materials and the Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory. The detainee has the status of a suspect.
General’s son Mikhail Sal’nikov, Professor of the Department of Theory of Government and Law at the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, has been detained for real estate fraud. Amid other corruption crimes hitting the headlines, this offense does not seem a high-profile one. But the point is that this is not the first criminal case instituted against professor Sal’nikov, and he is not the only relative of MIA general Viktor Sal’nikov having problems with the law.
