"On Friday, March 10, at about 4:30 pm Moscow time, law enforcement authorities caught a policeman receiving a bribe, which he had demanded from a local resident for providing information on a previously committed property crime," the agency's interlocutor said.

According to him, the leadership of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs assigned a service check into the incident.

"The suspect will be dismissed based on the results of this check. In addition, there is a collection of materials for the institution of criminal proceedings against him," the source said.

Let us recall that previously it was reported that special services and police in Derbent had detained an employee of the Center for Combating Extremism receiving a bribe of 3 million rubles (50.8 thousand dollars). This information has not been officially confirmed.
