Police lieutenant colonel detained in Pulkovo Airport upon receipt of $ 150.000
The specialist in ethnic organized crime extorted money from a Dagestani entrepreneur.
Operative of the MIA’s Criminal Investigation Department police lieutenant colonel Alexander Bolshakov was detained at the parking lot of Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, after receiving a bribe. Bolshakov took the money from an intermediary, who gave him fake 9 million rubles ($ 140.000) and $ 15.500, Fontanka reports. The operation took place on the night of May 17 under the supervision of employees of the Internal Security Directorate of the Central Office of the FSB.
A criminal case of bribe-taking on an especially large scale (para. 6 of Article 290 CCRF) was initiated against the detainee, the press service of the St. Petersburg Central Board of the ICR reports. According to Fontanka, the intermediary received 12 million rubles ($ 185.000) from a local entrepreneur, a native of Dagestan, and the meeting was held in the Metropol restaurant in Moscow. Then, the intermediary was detained and co-operated with the investigation, after which the officers flew with him to St. Petersburg.
General’s son Mikhail Sal’nikov, Professor of the Department of Theory of Government and Law at the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, has been detained for real estate fraud. Amid other corruption crimes hitting the headlines, this offense does not seem a high-profile one. But the point is that this is not the first criminal case instituted against professor Sal’nikov, and he is not the only relative of MIA general Viktor Sal’nikov having problems with the law.
