Investigators offered their ‘help’ to a victim in a swindling case

33-year-old police major and 28-year-old senior lieutenant have been put under formal investigation.

Two representatives of Russia’s MIA in Moscow’s Voykovsky District have been detained while taking a bribe, reports MK.

According to MK, 33-year-old police major and 28-year-old senior lieutenant have been put under formal investigation. They extorted money from a victim in a swindling case. The security officials demanded 40 thousand rubles ($600) from the man. They promised to help him in repairing of material damage from a suspect of swindling.

The victim agreed. The operatives did made the suspect pay for damage: they took him to a bank and made him withdraw 209 thousand rubles ($3 thousand). They took 40 thousand rubles ($600), the rest was given to the victim. However, the MIA’s representatives were detained while handing over the money.
