Over the past year, more than a hundred investigators and prosecutors received various punishments for criminal offenses. The data are provided by the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of Russia.

In 2018, the verdict was announced to 104 employees. Most former investigators and prosecutors went on trial for Bribery. 25 people were convicted under this article. 15 employees faced trial under Swindling. In addition, among the crimes incriminated to former law enforcers are Forgery by an Official, Negligence, Embezzlement, and Falsification of Evidence.

According to statistics, lawyers, notaries, and auditors were prosecuted under this article more often than investigators and employees of supervising agencies. At the same time, 61 people from this category were convicted under Swindling. It is noteworthy that last year, judges and court officials themselves were sentenced for criminal cases only six times.
