Former Senior Assistant to Omsk ICR Directorate Ekaterina Bespalova (formerly known under the surname Pavlova) acts as an advocate in the trial of former judge Sergey Moskalenko.

As reported by Novy Omsk, the regional Investigative Committee has confirmed the information that Bespalova defends her father in court.

Bespalova left the ICR after the beginning of criminal proceedings against her father and started practicing law.

Kuibyshev District Court Judge Moskalenko was indicted in early December. He is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of 8 million rubles during the criminal proceedings against Head of OmStroy-2001 Company LLC Viktor Berg. Previously, he had been suspended at the request of Head of ICR Aleksandr Bastrykin.

According to the criminal case materials, Federal Judge Sergey Moskalenko received bribe for commutation of sentence from businessman Viktor Berg. Then, the major developer Berg was found murdered by his car. It is noteworthy that the head of OmStroy-2001 had been accused of embezzling more than 100 million rubles received from shareholders, non-payment of salaries to his employees, as well as a number of other financial crimes.

Let us recall that the judge was formally charged in early December, but the criminal investigation will be completed only in 2017. Previously, Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Aleksandr Bastrykin had suspended him.

December 30, ICR announced the completion of the investigation into the murder of Viktor Berg. It is known that the investigators are onto the killer, but his name is not disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
