Novosibirsk region colony head caught red-handed while receiving $19.5 thousand bribe
For this money, Artem Evseyenko promised to ensure favorable conditions for one of the convicts in another colony, as well as to secure his release on parole.
The head of colony No. 2 in the Novosibirsk region, Artem Evseyenko was detained while receiving a bribe of 1.3 million rubles ($19.5 thousand), according to the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region.
It is reported that the transfer of money occurred on August 28. For a fee, the 43-year-old Evseyenko promised to improve the conditions of a convict from another colony, as well as to ensure his release on parole.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on Swindling (Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In the near future, a preventive measure will be chosen against Evseyenko. The inquiry into the incident is ongoing.
