Novgorod official grants bonuses to subordinates, appropriates money
In the Novgorod region, an official is tried for embezzlement of finances abusing his official position.
In the Novgorod region, head of one of the village settlements is accused of embezzling other people's property through abuse of his official position (part 3 of Art. 160 of the Russian Criminal Code). According to the investigative bodies, at the end of last year, he ordered that the bookkeeper grant bonuses to three employees of the local administration in the amount of 110 thousand rubles ($1.8 thousand) each. After his subordinates received the money, he took away and appropriated 240 thousand rubles ($4 thousand) from them.
The swindling was exposed during one of the checks, carried out by officers of the law enforcement bodies in the local administration. A criminal case was initiated against the man.
Now the law enforcers conduct the necessary investigative measures and establish all the circumstances of the crime committed. The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
Former traffic cop Mikhail Saplinov was sentenced to life in prison for murdering two young women. The trial was held in the Belgorod region in February. The defendant pleaded guilty.
