Nikita Belykh hospitalized to Matrosskaya Tishina
The ex-Governor of the Kirov region was earlier being held in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center.
Former Governor of the Kirov Region Nikita Belykh accused of taking a bribe is transferred from the pre-trial detention center of Lefortovo to hospital of Matrosskaya Tishina. This was reported to media by the politician's lawyer Andrey Grokhotov.
According to the lawyer, his client had problems with health. Belykh is appointed comprehensive medical inspection. “In January Nikita Belykh's condition sharply worsened. According to defense, there were problems with diagnosis and treatment — therapy did not render due effect”, the defender in a conversation with RIA Novosti emphasized.
Earlier, the lawyer reported that leg of his client was paralyzed, also head and heart aches were observed.
To recall, on January 20, 2017, the Moscow City Court recognized legal arrest of Belykh and extended the term of detention of the accused of taking a bribe in the amount of 400 thousand euros till March 24. According to the investigators, the ex-Governor received the above-stated amount for protection the New Vyatka ski plant and Forestry managing company.
According to the investigation, having taken a five-billion loan ($88.7m) from Sberbank in 2008, the owner of Pavlovskgranit deliberately split up the assets of the company so that creditors could not bring a charge against him to court.
