The new Prime Minister of Dagestan recognizes the collection of taxes, transparency of public procurement and development of the tourist potential of the republic as overriding priority. Zdunov delves into the construction industry: he states the need to put in order real estate cadastral registration issue and provision of new housing construction with the necessary engineering infrastructure.

The decree on the appointment of 39-year-old Artem Zdunov as the Head of the Dagestani government was published on the website of the Head of the republic on February 7. Earlier, Zdunov served as the Minister of Economy of Tatarstan.

The government of Dagestan was dismissed on February 5. This was preceded by the detention of interim Prime Minister Abdusamad Hamidov, his deputies Shamil Isayev and Rajudin Yusufov, as well as ex-Minister Shahabas Shakhov. On February 6, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested officials charged with Swindling on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). The investigation believes that the defendants have stolen budgetary funds allocated for the implementation of social programs in the republic. Also, officials are suspected of creating a gang.
