New criminal case for Saratov region minister
On the previous work, the official unreasonably granted large awards to the head of the district administration.
Ex-Head of the Balashov district and Minister for Internal Policy of the Saratov region Elena Shcherbakova has become a defendant in the criminal case of Exceeding Official Powers for the second time. On her previous work, the official unreasonably granted large awards to Head of the district administration Aleksandr Moskalyov, the regional ICR Investigations Directorate reports.
In 2015, Shcherbakova gave her colleague 80 thousand rubles ($1,197), and in 2016, 353 thousand ($5,282) as a reward. The crime was exposed by officers of the Federal Security Service Directorate in the Saratov region. Shcherbakova did not admit her guilt.
In March 2018, the court ordered the collection of 306 thousand rubles ($4,579) from Shcherbakova in a civil suit for unlawful awarding of Moskalyov in 2016. In December 2017, the latter was sent to a penal colony for 2.5 years for illegal privatization of official housing.
