Nefteyugansk mayor searches might stem from his clash with security forces
In 2018, Sergei Degtyarev initiated the resignation of Sergei Lagoyda from the post of vice mayor of Nefteyugansk. Previously, he had served in the Kurgan FSB.
The searches in the apartment of the Nefteyugansk mayor and in the city administration were linked the conflict between the mayor and the security forces, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the agency source in the city municipality, in 2018, Sergei Degtyarev had a conflict with law enforcement agencies. Degtyarev initiated the resignation of Sergei Lagoyda from the post of vice mayor of Nefteyugansk. Previously, he had served in the Kurgan FSB.
Earlier it was reported that the searches in the Nefteyugansk administration were associated with authority abuse. Sources of Znak.com and Ura.ru reported that Degtyarev had been detained and his office and home had been raided. According to Znak.com, the investigative activities were carried out by the Fourth Investigation Department (in the Ural Federal District) and the FSB department. The source also linked the searches with the sale of two land plots at a reduced price by the administration.
