Moscow region: Stupino Deputy beaten for dispelling corruption
A few days ago the Parliamentarian published an investigation, which referred to the corruption schemes of Stupino district Head Pavel Chelpan.
Unknown persons attacked Deputy of the Stupino urban settlement (Moscow region) Nikolay Kuznetsov. According to the journalist of Nezavisimaya Gazeta Alexey Gorbachev on his page on the social network, the MP was beaten on 28 February.
The two men flattened Kuznetsov in the entrance of his house.
"Doctors put his concussion, closed head injury, and soft tissue injuries of the head down," Alexey Gorbachev wrote on Facebook.
The victim gears the attack to the publication of anti-corruption investigationsin the local newspaper Gorod na Oke about 30-year reign of city Head Pavel Chelpan. Kuznetsov gave reporters his materials, exposing corruption in the leadership of Stupino and Stupino district.
In particular, the publication states that Chelpan forces foreign investors to transfer millions of dollars to charities, "the founders of which are his friends and subordinates”. In addition, the article raises the problem of housing and communal services, defrauds investors and dilapidated housing.

Note that Pavel Chelpan is a political mastodon of Moscow region, who led Stupino district's authorities since 1987. So, in January 1987 he was elected the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Stupino City Council, and in December 1991 he was appointed the Head of the Stupino district Administration. And in 1996, 1999 and 2003 he was re-elected the Head of the Stupino district. He is a member of the Edinaya Rossiya (United Russia) party.
Nikolay Kuznetsov was elected to the City Council of Stupino in 2014 from Spravedlivaya Rossiya (A Just Russia) party. In the same year he self-nominated as the Head of the urban settlement, but dropped out after registration. In general, Kuznetsov climbs the ranks in the Stupino district since 2009. In 2016, he ran in the Moscow Regional Duma and the Russian State Duma from Yabloko (Apple) party.
