Moscow Region: FSB raids administration of Volokolamsk District
The raid may be connected with suspicion of the former district head of corruption.
The FSB officers conducted a search and seizure of documents in the offices of the Volokolamsk District administration, the Moscow Region. The event is related to municipal contracts, which former acting district head Andrey Vikharev allegedly concluded with affiliated organizations. The total amount of the contracts exceeded 500 million rubles ($ 7,5 million), Novaya Gazeta reports, referring to activist Artem Lyubimov.
According to Lyubimov, the contracts were concluded for the improvement of the square in front of the Volokolamsk Railway Station and the Lama Sports Palace. The activist noted that the contractor Delta-Stroy LLC won the auction, although the application the organization submitted did not meet the requirements of the auction documentation. Lyubimov especially drew the prosecutors’ attention to this fact.
From November 1, Vikharev heads the Istra City District, the Moscow Region.
The Investigations Directorate in the Leningrad Region of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICR) is going through turbulent times. After an unexpected replacement of the supreme command, the winds of change started blowing. Colonel of justice Pavel Vymenets, the new acting head of the agency, launched personnel reshuffles. According to sources, all means are used to purge the ranks from corrupt officers, including collection of compromising materials and denunciations.
