MIA investigator for combating organized crime detained for $22.9 thousand bribe

Aleksander Prasolov demanded money for changing measure of restraint for a person accused of illegal trading of alcohol.

Senior investigator of the Directorate of Internal Affairs in the North-West Administrative District Aleksander Prasolov has been detained for taking of 1.5 million rubles ($22.9 thousand) bribe in Moscow, reports Mash Telegram channel. According to the channel, he demanded money for changing measure of restraint for Denis Khairov accused of illegal trading of alcohol.

The gang that dealt with illegal trading of alcohol was detained in 2016, however Khairov walked free. Prasolov who investigated the gang’s case offered him to brush the issue under the carpet for 1.5 million rubles ($22.9 thousand). With that, the accused would walk free with a fine only.

Khairov contacted to the Federal Security Service. On February 12, when the money was supposed to be transferred, he came to the meeting with officers of the intelligence service who detained the investigator.
