In Ulyanovsk, three members of an organized crime group, which was previously covered by Deputy Head of the regional police Eduard Osyanin until he came under criminal prosecution, are detained.

The criminal group specialized in the production of counterfeit alcohol under well-known brands (Hennessy, Jack Daniel`s, Finskaya Silver, etc.) at two factories in Ulyanovsk. Workshops for the production of counterfeit worked in two shifts. Law enforcers stopped the underground activity in September 2016. In the course of investigative and operational activities of the FSB and the Interior Ministry there were found more than 150 thousand bottles produced under the pouring and more than 81 thousand falsifications ready for a transportation.

There were revealed about 100 thousand liters of alcohol-containing liquid, and the rolls of fake excise stamps. Investigators say the gang is interregional - accomplices of Ulyanovsk OCG members delivered faked alcohol in other regions of Russia. Partners in crime have not to be set yet.

During all the time of functioning of the illicit alcohol production (from 2015 till September 2016), gang members paid a bribe to former Deputy Head of the regional police for the protection of public order Eduard Osyanin for the ‘cover’.

At the end of last year Osyanin was charged with Bribery on an especially large scale (part 6, Art. 290 of the Criminal Code). His last bribe former Colonel Osyanin received on September 24, 2016. It was reported that the size of the bribe was 1.2 million rubles. Investigators believe that only on cooperation with the OCG senior police officer earned more than 12 million rubles.

Sources of Kommersant clarify that his former colleague, MIA retired Colonel Alexander Mitukov, surrendered Osyanin; he acted as an intermediary. His security forces found the bribe. The regional Police ex-Deputy Head denies his guilt, saying that Mitukov organized illegal business. Osyanin also reported that former employee of the FSB covered the gang, but the investigation refuted this information. Currently, Osyanin is placed under house arrest. With regard to Alexander Mityukov, who with the investigation, a preventive measure in the form of recognizance not to leave was chosen.
