Krasnodar: Attorney faces trial for mediating in 1-million-ruble bribe
Krasnodar attorney Ilya Mikhaylov is accused of mediating in giving a 1-million-ruble bribe.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office already signed an indictment for a criminal case against him. The case file was referred to court for further proceedings.
Mikhaylov mediated in giving an investigative agency deputy head a bribe in the summer of 2016, according to investigators. The deputy head was to reclassify a criminal case related to bribery in a profit-making organization.
Ilya Mikhaylov was arrested by the FSB Krasnodar regional department employees. He was placed under house arrest. The case file was referred to the Leninsky District Court for further proceedings.
TV broadcaster Dmitry Guberniev reported that on December 12, law enforcement officers came to the hotel where members of the Russian national team were settled in before the start of the second stage of the World Championship.
