KrasAvia general director estimates his patronage at $66.500
According to the investigation, he received money from the director of one of the supplier companies.
Law enforcement agencies detained the KrasAvia airline general director in the case of a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), the press service of the West Siberian Investigation Department of the ICR for Transport reported.
According to the investigation, the top manager received 3 million 950 thousand rubles ($66.500) from the representative of the company, which deals with the supply of special equipment for the needs of the air carrier. The bribe was 10% of the amount of the supply contract. In exchange for the bribe, as investigation believes, the CEO of KrasAvia promised to lobby the interests of the supplier when concluding contracts in the future.
The director of the airline was detained for two days. In the near future, the court will appoint him a preventive measure.
As indicated on the official website of KrasAvia, the post of the general director is occupied by Valery Mordan since June 2016. According to Kommersant, he previously held executive positions in KrasAir, AirUnion and Airports of Krasnoyarya. On the eve director general of the Airports of Krasnoyarya Maxim Andrakhanov was charged with bribe-taking to the amount of 7 million rubles ($119.270).
