Khabarovsk prosecutor suspected of transferring $31 thousand worth of bribe
A criminal case on Mediation in Bribery (part 4 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) has been initiated against Dmitry Gubanov.
The Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Khabarovsk Kray opened a criminal case on Mediation in Bribery (part 4 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the prosecutor of Zheleznodorozhny district of Khabarovsk, Dmitry Gubanov, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reports.
Gubanov was detained by FSB officers on April 11. He is suspected of transferring a bribe of 2 million rubles ($31.1 thousand). The ICR clarified that the prosecutor together with another man received this money from a person involved in a criminal case. Siloviki detained Gubanov and his accomplice when the money was handed over, reports Komsomolskaya Pravda.
It is noted that his immediate supervisor, Khabarovsk prosecutor Kirill Osipchuk, petitioned to take operational investigative measures against Gubanov.
Dmitry Gubanov was appointed prosecutor of Zheleznodorozhny district of Khabarovsk in January 2018. Since 2001, he worked in the Prosecutor’s Office as investigator, senior investigator, deputy prosecutor of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, Bikin city prosecutor, Khabarovsk inter-district environmental prosecutor and prosecutor of the Khabarovsk region.
