Kemerovo ex-policeman detained for bribe to traffic police inspector

A retired police lieutenant colonel tried to prevent an escort of a truck to the special parking lot.

In the Kirov region, a retired lieutenant colonel of the Kemerovo region police was detained for an attempt to bribe a local police officer, the press service of the ICR in the region reports.

The ex-policeman escorted a lorry en route to the Kirov region. On the Sovetsk - Lebyazhye highway the traffic police inspector stopped the car, the dimensions of which exceeded the permissible. It turned out that the driver of the truck and the attendant had no permits.

Former policeman explained that the truck would be sent to a special parking lot. Then the retired lieutenant colonel suggested to the inspector "to solve the problem" for money. The inspector agreed but informed the authorities about the attempted bribe. The transfer of funds took place under the control of the security forces.

On March 12, the ex-policeman handed over a bribe for 60 thousand rubles to the head of Traffic Police. He was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Kirov region. A criminal case has been initiated over Bribe-Giving to an official for committing knowingly unlawful actions (part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
