Karabash ex-Mayor of Chelyabinsk Region, who is suspected of corruption, sent under house arrest
The court chose a measure of restraint the house arrest for the former Karabash Mayor Vyacheslav Yagodinets. The Mayor is suspected of Exceeding Official Powers during the construction of sewage treatment plants (part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code).
Recall that on August 12th, the official was arrested by the FSB officers. He is suspected of exceeding official powers during the construction of treatment facilities for Argazi Reservoir. In September 2013, the Administration of Karabash has signed a municipal contract with Oblpromresurs for development of design estimation documentation for construction of sewage treatment facilities. Investigators believed that Yagodinets signed the documents for payment of the contract without obtaining a positive public examination.
In the Ivvestigation Department of the ICR in Chelyabinsk Region it was clarified that Yagodinets will be under house arrest until 12 October.
Previously, the CrimeRussia wrote that in April 2015 searches had already been conducted in the Karabash Mayor’s Office in the framework of a swindling case related to improper spending of 13 million rubles of budget funds allocated for reconstruction of sewage treatment facilities in Karabash. ICR and FSB officers questioned the Mayor Vyacheslav Yagodinets and Igor Skalozubov, his Deputy for Engineering Infrastructure, Construction, and Architecture. That time, no one from the officials was prosecuted.
