Irkutsk: ICR department deputy head detained for kickbacks
Together with the investigator the siloviki took the police officer. Law enforcers were suspected of taking bribes from enterprises engaged in logging.
Employees of the Internal Affairs department of the ICR detained one of the deputies of the Head of the 3rd department for priority cases in the Irkutsk region. According to the edition FlashSiberia, a senior investigator is suspected of taking bribes on an especially large scale.
Local media also reported that, together with the officer of the ICR, a police detective was detained today. His detention was conducted by members of the security service of the regional MIA Central Board.
The workplaces and home of detainees were searched, documents were seized.
According to unofficial information, the policeman and the investigator were suspected of receiving kickbacks from the enterprises engaged in logging. Sources say that the criminal case under bribe-taking is initiated by the Siberian Federal District ICR.
Official comments from law enforcement agencies on this case have not been received yet.
The Kuybyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg is to consider the third case against Barsukov (Kumarin), as part of which he is charged with criminal community creation. Previously, the 'night governor of St. Petersburg' had been held in the Moscow's Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. It is also reported that Barsukov is to be questioned in the case of Galina Starovoytova's murder.
