The Investigative Committee published photographs of the houses of persons involved in the case of embezzlement in the Ministry of Culture, which were searched.

Former Deputy Culture Minister Grigory Pirumov, Head of Rospan group of companies Nikita Kolesnikov and ex-Director of the Property and Investment Policy Management Department of the Ministry of Culture Boris Mazo are suspected of the theft. The first two of them have been detained.

Judging by the photos, they are united by the love of luxury and gold.

The house of one of the suspects roofs the real Eldorado: golden handles open a golden drawer with gold jewelry inside.

Wads of five-thousand-ruble ($80.8) bills and currency on a working table of one of the defendants of the case can be seen on the publicized photo. The owner of this table is Nikita Kolesnikov, the Head of Rospan group, RIA Novosti reports.

To recap, according to the investigation, three persons named in the case landed a state contract for the construction of buildings for the State Hermitage for siphoning off money. The sum of 450 million rubles ($7.2 m) was funneled by them through shell firms.

The criminal case was initiated under part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (Swindling by an organized group on an especially large scale). Pirumov was previously found guilty of embezzlement in the "case of restorers," for which he got one year and six months in a strict-regime colony.
