Investigative Committee: Over $33.2thsd stolen from Moscow Metro
The law enforcement bodies have initiated criminal proceedings into the embezzlement of over 2 million rubles ($33.9 thousand) from the Moscow Metro state unitary enterprise.
According to Senior Assistant Manager of the Moscow ICR Main Investigations Directorate Yuliya Ivanova, a criminal case has been initiated into the embezzlement of over 2 million rubles from the Moscow Metro. The investigators believe that employees of one of the commercial organization's electric engine houses are involved in the embezzlement.
Yuliya Ivanova told that last year, employees of the company carried out the delivery and installation of a stationary jack-up unit in the electric engine house. It was done under the contract, but in reality, it turned out that the jack-up unit does not correspond to the customer's specification, and it cannot be used for technical reasons. Despite this fact, officials of the electric engine house accepted and paid for the work performed.
