Investigative Committee Head gets ambulance after conversation about results of inspection of General Tkachev
Certain influential persons who had instigated “an unpleasant showdown” came to a head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Aleksander Bastrykin.
Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Aleksander Bastrykin has had a conversation in a raised voice with some influential persons about the results of the inspection of a head of the ‘K’ directorate of the Federal Security Service - General Ivan Tkachev. Bastrykin had to call ambulance after the emotional conversation on August 5, reports VChK-OGPU Telegram channel.
Sources reported that on July 31, employees of the Federal Security Service who had instigated “an unpleasant showdown” came to the Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia which was caused by the results of the inspection of files received by the Moscow military investigative directorate upon the application of an ex-head of the Serpukhov district Aleksander Shestun. It was related to the fact that the General Tkachev and his subordinates had extorted money from an official.
“It is up to the Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to decide. Bastrykin maintained that there was confirmation of the crime and the criminal case had to be opened,” authors of the Telegram channel report. Bastrykin was told that the testimonies by Shestun had been lies and there had not been political background.
As a result, the matter related to instigating the criminal case against the General of the Federal Security Service Tkachev has not been decided yet.
Shestun sent his application in March, 2019. He states that he was a subject to extortion for common ‘protection’ and public defence. On June 11, Moscow garrison military court found non-action of military investigators illegal and ordered them to carry out inspection, according to the legislation.
Aleksander Shestun was arrested on June 14, 2018. In July, 2019, the Investigative Committee of Russia accused him in the final version. The ex-head of the Serpukhov district is accused of swindling on a large scale, laundering of money received illegally, illegal entrepreneurship activities and taking a bribe on an especially large scale. The administration of the district is considered a victim in the case. Shestun pleads not guilty.
