In Omsk infamous judge Moskalenko temporarily deprived of his powers
Last Friday, the qualification board of judges in the Omsk region has decided to suspend temporarily, for 6 months, the powers of Sergei Moskalenko, the judge of the Kuibyshev district court.
On July 4th, Alexander Bastrykin, the Head of Russian Investigative Committee filed a criminal case against the judge. Moskalenko is suspected of taking bribes in a large scale.
The investigation believes that the judge received eight million rubles from businessman Victor Berg for acquittal on charges of swindling and embezzlement money from participants of equity construction. Berg was killed last October in the forest near Omsk. After a few weeks the judge himself was the victim of an attempted murder. Offender stabbed Moskalenko to the heart area, but the 58-year-old victim survived. The results of investigation of the businessman's murder and an attempt on judge remain unknown.
Let's remind that, earlier, on June 24th, the Qualification Collegium of judges could not make a decision on Sergei Moskalenko. Observers note that only the institution of criminal proceedings stimulated judges to certainty. But not fully.
Businessman Badri Shengelia – a ‘professional witness’ and notorious figure of criminal St. Petersburg – won’t help the law enforcement authorities anymore in their struggle against corruption, banditry, and internal intrigues. The professional ‘work’ of the killers has drawn a line under his controversial life and left plenty of questions to the investigators – because persons interested in this murder can be found literally everywhere, including their own agency.
