ICR completed investigation into kickbacks' case at cosmodrome Vostochniy
For obtaining a state contract for 207 million rubles the Head of the FSUE was paid 5 million.
The investigation of the loud criminal case against the former Head of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Spetsstroytehnologii under Spetsstroy Vladimir Shamailov and entrepreneur Renat Syamiullin on charges of Abuse of Authority (Art. 201 of the Criminal Code) and Bribery in a Profit-making Organisation (Art. 204 of the Criminal Code) is completed.
According to Kommersant, the case against Shamailov and Syamiullin was opened by the 517th military investigation department of the ICR in April 2016, immediately after which the Basmanny Court placed two suspects under arrest.
The Head of the FSUE Spetsstroy was charged with commercial bribery, and the businessman Syamiullin - in complicity with the official.
According to the investigation, "some interested person" gave 5 million rubles to Renat Syamiullin on Letnikovskaya street in Moscow; this money was subsequently handed over to the addressee. This amount, the newspaper wrote, was promised Shamailov for his help in obtaining a large governmental contract for the construction of the Vostochniy and its infrastructure for amount 207 million rubles.
It was about the construction of housing for employees of the spaceport and social facilities. In addition, the terms of the contract included the development of adjacent areas.
This is a final version of charges brought against persons involved in the case. In the near future they will begin to familiarize with the case materials. Shamailov and Syamiullin do not admit guilt, their lawyers say that there is insufficient evidence's base collected by the ICR.
It is worth noting that the ex-Head of the Spetsstroytehnology Shamailov had previously worked in senior positions in various departments, for example, he was the Deputy Head of the Audit Department of the Federal Migration Service, and then the Deputy Head of the Regional Emergency Center.
