Head of the Russian Railways’ Urals office is charged with 650-thousand-ruble ($9,726) bribe.

In Yekaterinburg, Head of the Sverdlovsk railroad Aleksey Mironov has been arrested. He had been detained on suspicion of bribe-taking the day before. This is reported by Kp.ru.

Investigators do not disclose the details of the criminal case. It is known that the head of the Russian Railways’ Urals office is charged with 650-thousand-ruble bribe. Mironov does not plead guilty and considers the criminal prosecution a “cynical provocation.”

“This is a provocation! I will prove my innocence!” Mironov told journalists.

In court, the defense insisted on releasing the defendant on bail. However, the court decided to place Mironov under arrest for 2 months, motivating the decision by the fact that while at large, he could put pressure on the investigation by using his contacts.
