Head of Pension Fund in Transbaikal appropriating employees’ bonuses for 4 years
According to investigators, the official would force employees to return the bonuses they had received and spend the money on holidays and other needs of the institution.
The Transbaikal branch of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation has been searched. A criminal case on suspicion of abuse of official powers has been initiated against Head of the Pension Fund Department Galina Mikhaylenko. The official used to force her employees to return the bonuses they had received.
According to investigation, in the period from 2011 to 2015, about 30 employees were being accrued bonuses, which they actually did not receive; the money was used for carrying out celebrations and spent on other financial and economic needs of the institution.
Documents of interest for the investigation were seized during the searches at the Pension Fund office.
Galina Mikhaylenko is currently in office. Her dismissal is not at issue. There are no reports on the official’s detention by the Investigative Committee.
Galina Mikhaylenko was born on July 6, 1961 in Chita. She worked as deputy chief accountant in the Transbaikal branch of the Pension Fund since May 1997, and has headed it since 2011.
