Head of one of Ivanovo region's districts got nailed on bribe
Head of the Privolzhsky district Vladimir Tikhanovski is remanded in custody for two months.
The Oktyabrsky District Court in Ivanovo granted the petition of the investigation and arrested the Head of the Privolzhsky district, Vladimir Tikhanovski until 12 March. He was detained by FSB officers on suspicion of receiving a bribe last week. One more defendant in the case is head of the MUE Privolzhskoye TEP Evgeny Goryunov, he was placed under house arrest for the same term.
According to investigators, on January 12, 2017, Tikhanovski and Goryunov equally divided 800 thousand rubles, received by the latter from a local businessman. Previously, he concluded lucrative contracts with Privolzhskoye TEP for the supply of petroleum products for the heating needs of the municipality.
Tikhanovski offered Goryunov a protection, for which he received his share.
Upon this incident two criminal cases were initiated. Edinaya Rossiya (United Russia) party suspended Tikhanovski's membership in the party.
A St. Petersburg company Renessans-Restavratsiya JSC, involved in a criminal case under Art. 169 (Swindling) of the Russian Criminal Code, has been selected to receive the contract. The case was initiated in September 2017 in connection with the failure to perform 4-million-ruble ($70 thousand) works to restore a XVI-century fortress in the Leningrad region.
