Head of Moscow region’s Kotelniki may be charged with major fraud
Irina Polnikova has been brought in for questioning in the Investigative Committee.
Head of the Moscow region’s Kotelniki city district Irina Polnikova may become a defendant in a criminal case of swindling on an especially large scale, Telegram-channel Nezygar’ reports.
A channel’s source said that Polnikova has been taken for interrogation in the Investigative Committee. It is reported that Polnikova had been repeatedly invited to the ICR for questioning, but failed to show up.
Previously, the same channel reported that the investigators had enough questions for Polnikova. It might concern the illegal seizure of land by the head and her deputies, as well as the embezzlement of budgetary funds and bankruptcy of the resource-supplying company Kotelniki Municipal Housing and Communal Enterprise.
45-year-old Irina Polnikova was appointed Head of the Kotelniki city district in October 2016. Previously, she had worked in the Kotelniki administration for five years, first as First Deputy Head of Administration; and then, in October 2014, she was appointed to the post of Head of the City District Administration.
Major general Igor Vasiliev, Head of the Engineering Support Service of the Federal Protection Service (FPS), and lieutenant general Ulitin subordinate to him are currently in the middle of a scandal. However, it is unlikely that they lose their posts. Reportedly, the two generals are just the tip of the huge corruption iceberg in the law enforcement structures. This is not the first embezzlement episode in their careers.
