The Head of Donskoy District Council Flora Tyurina has been arrested in Moscow on suspicion of bribe-taking.
According to a source in law enforcement bodies, operation to apprehend the Head of the Donskoy District Council has been held by FSB officers with police support. The council building has been searched, Interfax noted.
The public servant is suspected of receiving 100 thousand rubles. However, according to Life.ru, Tyurina demanded an amount of 1.5 million rubles from the bribe-giver. The issue of whether to initiate a criminal case is currently being decided.
Flora Vartanovna Tyurina has been holding the post of the Head of the Donskoy District Council for three years. According to the district council's website, she had previously served as the Head of technical department at Inzhenernaya sluzhba rayona Tsaritsyno (Tsaritsyno District Engineering Service) Moscow State Institution and the first Deputy Head of the Central Chertanovo District Council of Moscow, from where she was transferred to the post of the first Deputy Head of the Council on issues of housing policy and housing and communal services of the Donskoy district of Moscow in 2013.
